PULASKI, Va. - Lunch Pail Ventures, a Virginia Tech–adjacent network highlighting high-growth, founder-led companies, recently featured MOVA Technologies and its work advancing the FEATHER™ poultry air purification system.
The feature recognizes MOVA’s progress developing the first in-house ammonia capture solution built to directly improve farm performance. FEATHER™ enhances bird health, reduces mortality, and improves feed conversion — delivering measurable and sustained economic value for poultry growers. The platform’s next phase, an AI-powered monitoring and decision-support system, will further strengthen these gains with real-time insights and production optimization.
Lunch Pail Ventures also highlighted MOVA’s founding team — a group with decades of experience spanning engineering, filtration science, agriculture, and technology commercialization. Several members of MOVA’s leadership, including Founder Steve Critchfield and CEO John Schott, are Virginia Tech alumni returning to their roots in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
To date, MOVA has secured $3.6 million in private investment and continues preparing for its next round of funding. The company also qualifies for Virginia’s Angel Investor Tax Credit, offering a 50% state tax credit for eligible investments through the end of 2025.
“We’re encouraged by the strong response from leading poultry companies. The sector is supporting us with access for testing and trials — validating that we’re solving the right problem, the right way.”
Steve Critchfield, Founder
